Anthony (Tony) Imbrunone 77, of Traverse City passed away on November 27, 2014. He was born in Detroit to Anthony and Jeanette (Quatrine) Imbrunone.
On April 30, 1960 he married Helen Polkowski at St. Veronica Church in East Detroit. They had three children and in 1969 the family moved to Traverse City.
Here Tony was self-employed in small engine repair and had a used car lot.
Tony loved classic cars and owned five of them. He was especially proud of his 1957 Desoto Fireflite.. Tony and Helen enjoyed many classic car shows and won a number of trophies. He also loved German Shepherds and had a number of them over the years. He was the family photographer and took pictures whenever the opportunity arose. In addition Tony's Italian heritage was very important to him, he also loved to cook Italian food and made the best spaghetti sauce.
Tony is survived by Helen his wife of 54 years as well as his children Sam Imbrunone of Interlochen, Diane Wolfe of Las Vegas, and Christina (Greg) Lukas of Traverse City. He is also survived by his sister Maria of Las Vegas, his Aunt Vi and a number of cousins and friends as well as his German Shepherd, Schultzy.
Preceding Tony in death were his parents, sister Carol Lee and a number of aunts , uncles and cousins.
He will be missed but not forgotten.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday ,December 9, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Monday , December 8, with recitation of the Rosary at 7PM at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
