Anthony "Tony" Michael Gazarek, 73, of Traverse City, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

Tony was born on December 5, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Anthony Sr. and Genevieve (Wanat) Gazarek.

Tony was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to the transportation and trucking industry. Over the years, he worked for several companies, including RNL Transfer and Jack's Products. He took great pride in his work and the life he built.

Outside of work, Tony found joy in the simple things. He loved riding his motorcycle. He especially loved his Harley, which brought him many happy moments over the years. When his children were younger, he cherished the time spent with them, fishing, boating, and camping. Although he was more of a city person at heart, he never hesitated to step outside his comfort zone to create lasting memories with his kids.

Tony also enjoyed watching old World War II documentaries and movies. He had a sweet tooth, often reaching for a Hershey bar, and could frequently be found enjoying a bowl of popcorn while relaxing.

He is survived by his kids, Kimberley (Tom) Cutler and Gregory (Carlita Wares) Gazarek; his grandchildren, Mike, Tyler, Greg, and Hunter; and his sister, Maryann (John) Klino.

Private family services will be held at a later time.
