Obituary

Traverse City-Anton L. Broghamer, 86, of Traverse City, died Thursday evening, February 14, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 22, 1926, in Traverse City, he was the son of the late Antone L. , Sr and Amelia (Kaltenbach) Broghamer.

Tony was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

As his hobbies he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, camping, riding his bike and was well known for his meticulous woodworking skills. He will be remembered for the tremendous energy he spent working on his yard and garden.

Tony was employed by Boughey Bottling Company, Parson' s Manufacturing, Red Mill Lumber Company and enjoyed working on the Hopkins' Family Cherry Farm. He retired in 1993 after owning and operating Campus Laundry for over thirteen years..

He is survived by his children, Anton (Denise) Broghamer, of Lake Ann, Linda Witkowski, of Traverse City, Kneale Broghamer, of Traverse City and Gayle (Joel) Tolle, of Safety Harbor, Fl; grandchildren, Amy, Leslie (David), Lori, Michael (Tammy), Shari (Hermias); 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Fred Broghamer, Frances Chamberlain and Bertha Noftz, along with a host of other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Tony was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (Hopkins) Broghamer, who died on January 29, 1994 and his sister, Mary Warner.


The Broghamer family will greet friends at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.


A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on
Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. James Hayden and Rev. Miriano Dellagiovanna will con-celebrate.

Burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

In remembrance of Tony, memorial contributions may be directed to the Fr. Fred Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or church.
