Antonio Alfonseca, 33, of Suttons Bay was a loving husband and father who passed away August 19, 2014. Antonio is survived by his wife Lilia, his wonderful children Alanna, Antonio and Alonso. Antonio was a very athletic and active person whose passion and competitive nature led him to wrestling, Golden Gloves Boxing, Traverse City Wolves football, bodybuilding, MMA Cage fighting and church softball. One of his greatest characteristics is his love for people. Tony went out of his way to ask how someone was doing and let everyone know how much he cared for them. He became a volunteer for the Leland/Lake Leelanau Fire and EMS team, because he cared so much about helping others. Tony was the sole proprietor of Alfonseca Painting - leading and educating employees as a team while creating beautiful homes, buildings and museums.
Aside from all of these activities his greatest love was his family and being outdoors. A great reward and blessing was coaching his son's soccer team. Tony's presence was unmatched by no other; he was heard and seen when he entered a room. He wore his heart on his sleeve and had a sense of humor that put a smile on your face. Tony loved all who he encountered and was extremely proud of his entire Alfonseca, Muizelaar-VanGessel, Raphael, and Moreno family.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
