WILLIAMSBURG — Arnold Kerkhof, 84, of Williamsburg, passed away Feb. 3, 2012, at Cherry Hill Haven in Kalkaska. Arnold was born on July 26, 1927, to the late Franciscus and Arnolda (Perenboom) Vande Kerkhof in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada. On March 15, 1947, Arnold married the former Rose Marie Seehorsch. They met on a blind date at the age of 17 and together celebrated 64 years of marriage. Arnold faithfully served with the United States Army during World War II. In his spare time Arnie enjoyed collecting coins and playing golf. He was the owner of Coins and Collectables for over 20 years. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brian Fitzpatrick; and brother, Frank Vande Kerkhof, who was killed while serving in World War II.Arnie is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; son, John (Rene) William Vande Kerkhof; daughters, Kristine (Mark) Fitzpatrick, Jeanne (Randy) Stites and Susan (Kevin) Osbourne; 10 grandchildren; eight-and-one-half great-grandchildren; brother, William (Sharon) Kerkhof; and sister, Johanna (Charles) Stevens.
