Arthur Edgar Fall, 91, former resident of Traverse City returned home in May before going to his home coming in Heaven.
Arthur died in the early morning hours on July 14, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.
Arthur was born on August 13, 1925 to Rev. Fred and Alice (Blackhurst) Fall who preceded him in death.
Arthur joined the United States Navy in 1943. He was a member of the Sea Bees in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946.
On August 16, 1946 he married Wilma Riggs who preceded him in death on December 5, 1981.
After completing his education at Asbury College in Kentucky he served as a Pastor. He then worked for the United States Postal Service and then became a teacher. He taught second grade in Mesick. Following Wilma's death, Art traveled around the country. He loved to be outdoors. Art was also a private pilot and loved to fly his float plane and land on Silver, Long and Bass Lake.
Arthur was the fourth of nine children. He is survived by one sister, Beatrice Erickson, two brothers-in-law, Theodore Groesser and Dean Boss, one sister-in-law Marlene Boss. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth (Stanley) Susan, Pauline (Dean) Boss, and Ruby (Theodore) Groesser and brothers Meredith (Alice) Fall, Albert (Hilda) Fall, Carson (Joyce) Fall, and Elton Dale (Marlene) Fall.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn where he will receive full military honors.
