Obituary

Jim Charron, 77, of Traverse City passed away peacefully at home in his sleep in the early morning hours of April 4, 2024.
Jim was born on July 26, 1946 in Muskegon to the late Arthur Edward and Mary (Minarick) Charron.
On August 6, 1971, he married Elizabeth "Betsy" Myers in Muskegon.
Jim served our country honorably as a member of the United States Army.
He was a devoted and faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Cadillac and Spring Lake Country Clubs.
He served as a Eucharistic Minister at Church and at Munson for many years and was also very involved with the Cursillo and DeColores movements. For over thirty years, Jim always looked forward to his weekly Reunion Prayer Group with his brothers in Christ.
Jim worked in sales for EcoLab for 20 years. In his free time, he loved to play golf, bowl and ski. He could fix anything and did a lot of it. He also liked to grill for family gatherings. He and Betsy had a beautiful morning ritual where they would enjoy a warm cup of coffee on their deck and watch the orioles and hummingbirds. His family will remember him fondly sitting in his comfy leather recliner. He will be greatly missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his infant son Gabriel.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Betsy; their children Amy (Nicholas) DiGiandomenico and Dr. Jessica Charron; grandchildren Tabitha, Elijah and Sullivan; sisters Barbara (David) Kendall and Louise (Norbert) Tutlis and many other family members and friends.
