Arthur "Art" Leonard Hansen, Jr., 96, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Munson Medical Center. Art was born on December 13, 1928 in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Arthur and Mildred (Batzer) Hansen.

He married the love of his life, G. Joan Kologe on May 27, 1950 in Traverse City. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2025. Art proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Art owned and operated Barlow Superette, as well as Hansen Foods in Mancelona, retiring in 1994 after over 30 years of service.

Art is survived by his son, Arthur Hansen III; son-in-law David, his grandchildren, Alexis Hansen, and David Jr. (Tina) Walters and their children David III and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Walters as well as three brothers; Don, Jim and Bern Hansen.

A Funeral Service honoring Arthur will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Deacon Kevin Endres will officiate. Burial will follow in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
