Traverse City – Barbara G. Osborne, 79, of Traverse City, died Monday, January 08, 2018 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family nearby.

Barbara was born on August 9, 1938 in Houston, TX to the late William and Elizabeth (Carson) Stanfield. On November 28, 1975, in Port Huron, she married Robert E. Osborne who preceded her in death on March 29, 2007.

Barbara graduated in 1960 from nursing school at Methodist Hospital in Houston. In 1985, she received her B.S.N. from the University of Detroit, Summa Cum Laude. She worked as a summer nurse at Interlochen Arts Academy for over 20 years, where she also volunteered her time as an usher. Barbara was a member of The Presbyterian Church and a Munson Hospice volunteer. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed concerts at Interlochen and playing bridge.

Surviving Barbara are her daughters Evelyn (David Norris) Bolin of Capetown, South Africa and Dana (Tom Czarny) Goodwin of Traverse City; grandsons Kevin and Carson Goodwin; brothers Aubry (Pricilla) Fisk and Hollye (Susan) Fisk, both of Texas; and many dear friends at The Village at Bay Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and adoptive father, Aubry Fisk, and stepson Curtis Osborne.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held in the Spring.
