Barbara Jean Wall, 89, of Traverse City, passed on March 17, 2018 at the Munson Hospice House. She was born February 5, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Henry and Rose Piatt.
Barbara earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Ohio State University, and worked as a Registered Nurse specializing in surgical oncology.
On December 10, 1955, she married Thomas Wall, MD. After working in medicine and raising a family, Barb got a second degree in interior design. Using her experience in medicine, she designed more efficient and effective operating rooms, exam rooms, nurses stations and medical offices in numerous medical facilities throughout the Midwest.
Barbara's love of animals over the years was evident by her owning many horses, dogs, and cats. Her favorite dog breed was the German Shepherd, having trained a few and competed with success. She was a firm believer in pet therapy and had visited senior communities in Wisconsin with her dogs.
Barbara maintained her love of sports, horses, dogs and animals in general, passing these on to her children and grandchildren who carry on the love for them as well. Barb is survived and missed dearly by her beloved dog Indy, by her children: Steve (Tass Jones), Kim, David (Jill), and Tracy, as well as four grandchildren: Carson, Connor, Max and Cody. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
