Barton "Bart" Strickland

Bart Strickland, 61 of Interlochen, Michigan and formerly from Flushing, Michigan passed away peacefully Wednesday January 26, 2022.

Bart will be missed by his wife Tammy and children Brad (Kattie Beaton) and Tara (Jordan Moore), and grandson Aiden, his sisters Debbie and Suzanne (Chris), his brother Matt (Tammy), his step-mother Patricia, his step-father Lee (Donna), his step-sisters Kathy (Doug) Grosso, Linda (Jason) Gollan, and step-brothers Matt (Debbie), Mike (Christine), and Dan Tiesworth.

Bart was preceded in death by his Mother Carol Jarboe, his Father William Strickland, his brother Todd Strickland, and his step-brother John Tiesworth.

Bart will also be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews, and many friends from Flushing, Interlochen, and Traverse City.

Bart enjoyed camping (especially an annual Labor Day week & weekend trip at his favorite Barnes Park in Eastport with family and friends), fishing, golf (especially on Father's Day with his Son Brad and Grandson Aiden), going to Elberta Beach with friends & family (and playing "tip-it" in the water), going to a friend's cabin in Onaway with his buddy Hugh for "boys weekend", boat rides with Paul and Kelly, hanging out with great friends in their garages & yards playing games (especially cribbage), and listening to music. Bart truly cherished the times he could see/hang-out/talk to his best man/friend Jeff Spinney from Flushing. Bart also had a special bond with his sisters (Deb and Sue) and enjoyed talking to them on the phone when they couldn't be together. Bart found comfort, when he could no longer work, hanging out at home with his golden retriever Charlie (until he crossed the rainbow bridge November 2020).

A memorial service will take place Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 11:00am to honor this epic man. Visitation will take place from 10:00am until the beginning of service.

Bart and his family wish to express their deep appreciation to the Cowell Family Cancer Center and Hospice of Michigan teams that took such loving care of him during his battle with cancer.
