Beatrice Mae Salisbury of Empire Michigan age 89 passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Born February 7, 1936, in Traverse City Michigan to Clifford and Beatrice Eitniear. Beatrice was the fourth of six children. She graduated from Traverse City Central and went on to Central Michigan University.

Beatrice's first job was as secretary of the president and CEO of Michigan Mutual Auto Insurance Agency in Traverse City, Michigan.

Both were introduced at her friend's wedding. Fred was playing in the band and Beatrice was with her friend's wedding party. They began their love from that day on. After having their wedding, they both started a life that would create a wonderful family and later a successful hardware and lumber company business in Empire and Traverse City, Michigan. Beatrice, a mother of three, was a strong advocate for our family. She was our rock. Deeply, loving, patient, and always finding time for her children and later grandchildren.

She was wise and generous to those in need. We all saw this while growing up. She was a wonderful person. Beatrice loved to work in her yard, spending all day nurturing her flowers and garden. She always talked about how much she loved to fish in streams and spend time in the woods.
Each of us has a special place in our hearts for our mother, grandmother, and wife. Mom will never be forgotten because she was a tremendous light on this earth.

Beatrice is survived by her husband Fred of (66) years. Her children; Fred Jr (Jackie), Ross, Lisa (Ray). Grandchildren; James (Christina), Joseph (Alexis), Anthony (Sandy), Alyssa, Chelsea (Darrel), Trevor, Nicole, Ariel and many great-grandchildren.

A Catholic Mass will be held by Fr. Ken at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 11411 S. Lacore Rd Empire Michigan. Mass will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Visitation starts at 10 am and the funeral mass at 11 am.
