Beatriz Smith (Benavides Parra), 65, of Traverse City passed away November 13, 2016 in Grand Rapids.
Beatriz is the daughter of the late Carlos Julio Benavides and Ismenia Parra de Benavides born on October 3, 1951 in Florencia, Caqueta, Colombia.
Nothing made Beatriz more proud or happy than her two wonderful daughters Monica and Martha. Her family was the center of her world.
Beatriz was a citizen of the world. Originally from Colombia South America, Beatriz loved to travel and see new places. Her favorite place of all was Traverse City, MI where she lived for 33 years. Everywhere she went, she brought a contagious smile and laugh.
She is survived and missed dearly by her two daughters; Martha Smith and Monica Tijerina.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools Scholarship Fund.
Per Beatriz's wish, cremation has taken place and the family will be gathering privately for a memorial service on Sunday November 20, 2016.
