Belinda Garvon, 77, of Kingsley passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023 with her family by her side.
Belinda was born on April 13, 1946 in Fulton, MO to the late Dale Weldon and Ruth (Spradlin) Owens.
On August 4, 1967, Belinda married her best friend, Michael A. Garvon in Reed City. Together the two have shared 55 years of love and laughter.
Belinda graduated from Hackley Nursing School in Muskegon in 1967. After a few years in New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia and down state, she and Michael settled in Traverse City where she began her career at Munson. While at Munson, she worked in the Cardiac Unit and retired after 30 years of caring for her patients. Throughout her life, she touched countless people, not only through her career, but also through her love and strength. She will be deeply missed.
She adored her family and loved "Garvon Day" when all four kids were home. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, camping, baking and going on walks. She loved Friday night Craft Nights with her friends and family.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law David Guffey, Gary Garvon, Lanair Owens, and sister-in-law Margaret Owens.
Belinda is survived by her husband Michael; their children Jennifer (Uli) Bruns, Michelle (Scott) Buckley, Jason (Shannon) Garvon, and Brenda (Shawna) Garvon and dear family friend Melinda Moder; grandchildren Jasmine, Pierce, Robert, Megan, Kyra, Isaac, Hazel, Scarlette and Iris; great grandchildren Elle, Spencer, Addilynn, Brooklyn, Gabriel and Olliver; siblings Dennis (Daphne) Owens, Marsha Guffey, Paul Owens and Ronda Owens; and her sweet Boston Terrier Sadie June.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church. The rosary will be prayed at 9:30 followed by visitation from 10 to 11. Interment will follow at St. Mary in Hannah at 2 pm.
