Bette Ann Williamson

Bette Ann Williamson, 91, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Boardman Lake Glens. Bette was born November 17, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan to Gladys (Ruble) and Herbert Sager. She was raised by her mother and step father, Wade Coffman. She opened and ran Peacock Alley, a very successful Saginaw gift shop in partnership with her mother. Bette was an accountant. She worked at Saginaw General Hospital and later at Visilite where she met her husband, Robert Williamson. They were married October 1, 1949 at Warren Avenue Presbyterian Church in Saginaw, Michigan. Together they built Pacolite Plastics, a plastics manufacturing business in Saginaw. Upon their retirement, they moved to Traverse City where Bette enjoyed building and decorating several houses. She enjoyed reading and owned a huge library of books. An excellent cook, she was famous for her homemade soups. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She spent her winters in Green Valley, Arizona. Bette's family will greatly miss her smile, laugh, and sense of humor.

Bette is survived by her two sons, Randy (Linda) Williamson and Ron Williamson, all of Traverse City. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on August 12, 1996, and by her parents and a brother, Robert Sager.

The family would like to thank the staff at Boardman Glens for their care and friendship.

Friends are welcome to visit with Bette's family on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City. A family service will be held later at the cemetery.
