Betty Belanger

Betty June Belanger, 85, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Bortz Healthcare.

Betty was born on March 24, 1930, in Traverse City, to the late Art and Ida "Beryl" (Johnson) Kirt. She was married to Cletus J. Belanger on August 16, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2009. In 1971, with her husband Clete, and sons, Terry and Keith, Betty started Belanger and Sons Excavating, Septic and Sewer Cleaning. She was very proud of their "quality" work. She retired in 1994.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Victor Maddasion, second husband Cletus Belanger, a son, Keith Maddasion and grandson, Guy Maddasion.

Betty is survived by her son, Terry (Maryellen) Maddasion, a daughter-in-law, Kate Maddasion, grandchildren, Todd (Carol) Maddasion, Michael Maddasion, Jason (Holly) Maddasion, Meagan (Eric) Swanson, Christine (Tom) Ledvina, Gerald Maddasion; great-grandchildren, Patricia Maddasion, Brianna Maddasion, Christopher LaForest, Kiely Maddasion, Isabelle Maddasion, Riley Swanson, Donovan Maddasion, Angoli Maddasion, Taylor Hansma, and Hunter Hansma.

At Betty's request, cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate her life privately.
