Betty Lou Letsche, affectionately known as "Lou", passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 97, with family by her side.

Lou was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was born on May 29, 1928 in Titusville, Pennsylvania. She earned her teaching degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and was a devoted teacher for the Dearborn, MI area for many years. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids, where she served in various capacities. Lou was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter EB of Elk Rapids, an organization that supports women's education and betterment. She also was a member of the Elk Rapids Golf Club. In addition to golfing, Lou enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, and baking. Her grandchildren will especially miss her amazing cookies. Lou loved her sweet Sheltie dogs that she had throughout her life, and most of all, Lou loved her husband and family, who were very special to her.

Lou will be missed by her husband of 73 years, Bill Letsche; children, Holly (Michael) Kasavana, Larry (Lorrie) Letsche, Leigh Anne (Steven) Stalter; grandchildren, Gregory (Tanaya), Bradley (Kasey), Jason (Courtney), Samantha, Emily (Mike); and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
