Betty Jean Roosevelt

Betty Jean Roosevelt, 87, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Monday January 6, 2014 at Munson Hospice House. She was born on December 2, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to the late Clarence and Bertha (Pierce) Magee. She was married to Carleton C. Roosevelt on May 29, 1946 in Traverse City. He preceded her in death. Betty had been employed as a retail manger by Stellens and Diana Shops. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Betty was a creative and gifted artist she had done several drawing and paintings, as well as wrote many poems. Her favorite saying was: "If you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough."

Betty is survived by her son, David (Deborah) Roosevelt, four grandchildren; Sean (Becky), Tracy (Jeff), Erin (Shannon), and David, four great-grandchildren; Molly, Lexie, Maddison and Jenna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton, a son, Robert Roosevelt, two brothers and two sisters.

In accordance with Betty's wishes cremation has taken place.
