Betty Ann Rouse, 79, of Traverse City and formerly of Kingsley, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on Wednesday, December 25, 1935 to the late Charles Vernol and Helen Elizabeth (Chappel) Stauffer in Summit City. Following her graduation from high school, Betty attended nursing school to become a Registered Nurse. She had been employed at Munson Medical Center and retired from Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital.
An avid reader, Betty enjoyed many hobbies, but especially ice fishing, deep sea fishing, sewing and playing the guitar. She loved her family and appreciated them dearly.
Betty is survived by her children, Susan Burke- Malone of Hatboro, PA, Cynthia (Mike) Reno of Kingsley, Arthur Rouse, Jr. of Traverse City and Helena (Carl) Guernsey of Traverse City. Also surviving are grandchildren, April Stokes, Chris Reno, Michelle Kremer, Angela Reno, Joseph Rouse, Ashley Reno, Kelli Rouse, Nicholas Rouse, Sue Rouse and Justin Rouse. Also surviving are her great grandchildren,Austin, Alexsis, Annabella, Aaliyah, Dylan, Asia, Jacob, Arianna, Jasmine, Serenity, Elijah, Emma, Abby, Azilyn, Devon and Kiah and nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her sons, Christopher and Jerry Rouse a son in law Michael Malone and her sister, Verna Woodcox.
Visitation for Betty will take place from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, Saturday, also at the funeral home, with Deacon Rene Hoenscheid officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. .
