TRAVERSE CITY – Betty Jane Stulz, age 88, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice House. Betty Jane Wooll was born on April 10, 1925 in Detroit to the late Judson and Ella (Hilton) Wooll. She married her husband of 69 years, Quintus Stulz on June 24, 1944 at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Betty was a member of Central United Methodist Church and her faith was very important to her. She loved to sing and was a member of various church choirs for over 44 years. Betty faithfully wrote in her diaries daily since 1948. She enjoyed playing shuffle board at the senior center, her daily walks at the mall with Quintus, was an avid reader and a loyal Detroit Tigers fan. Spending time with her family brought her great joy.
Surviving are her loving husband Quintus, three daughters and a son; Linda (Glenn) Harker of Traverse City, Norman (Sharon) Stulz of Holly, Edith (Tom) Wysocki of Plymouth, Beverly (Matt) Rocha of Waterford, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Alfred Wooll of Ann Arbor.
Friends are welcome to visit with Betty's family on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Betty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St., Traverse City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dale Ostema will officiate.
