Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — BettyLou Martha Hahn, 84, of Traverse City, formerly of Cadillac, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.BettyLou was born Saturday, Jan. 15, 1927, to the late Clifford and Esther (Windsor) Knauff, in Ft. Frances, Ontario. On March 7, 1945, she married William Hahn in Prince Rupert, B.C. He preceded her in death in November 1983.BettyLou had been employed by Mercy Hospital in Cadillac, and at the time of her retirement was the head of the sterilization and decontamination department. Not being one to be idle, she then worked at Taco Bell in Cadillac, where she affectionately became known as the "Mint Lady." BettyLou enjoyed all sorts of needlework and projects, enjoyed traveling and the casino.She is survived by her daughter ,Vallie Ginn, of Traverse City; her granddaughters, Sherry (Andrew) Richards, of Traverse City, and Lisa (Jim) Crozier, of Zeeland; her great-grandchildren, Courtney, Danielle, Alex and Jamie; as well as her step-brother, Clifford Knauff, and her step-sister, Catherine Knauff.BettyLou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son-in-law, Andrew Ginn; and her special friend, Lynn Lake.Memorial services will be held in the spring.Memorial contributions may be directed to The Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation, 1000 Pavilions Circle, Traverse City, MI 49684.Please share your special memory of BettyLou at her online guest book at www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com.The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
