Beulah Jane Hillier "BJ" age 95, of Traverse City passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.

She was born in Cheboygan Michigan on January 26, 1928 as the daughter of the late Homer and Bertha Lafrinere. She was the eldest of three daughters, and one son.

BJ married the late George D. Hillier on May 9, 1953. He proceeded her and Death on August 1 of 2001. Together they relocated to Traverse City to start their family and raised five children, two sons, and three daughters in which two were twins. George (Madge) Hillier, Homer (Terri) Hiller, Jenny (Gary) O'Connor, Sherry (Gary) Fox, Angela (William) Schopieray.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche (Robert) Ormsbee, Pearl (James) Compton, and her brother Homer Lafrinere.

BJ was blessed with many grandchildren, Jason (Amy) Hillier, Gary (Angie) Hillier, Holly (Doug) Munro, Denyelle, (Andrew) Nelson, Jesse Schopieray, Travis (Missy) Hillier, Trista (Don) Slater and many great grandchildren and more to come.

BJ was an avid Bingo player and loved playing games. She loved her sweets and she loved helping raise her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will take place next to her husband George at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or the VFW Post 2780.
