Beulah Lautner
TRAVERSE CITY – Beulah Lautner, age 96, of Traverse City, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her home in the loving care of her family.
Beulah was born on December 4, 1920 to Thomas and Lottie (Wares) Skiver in Long Lake, Township. Beulah was born and raised in Long Lake, Township and lived her entire life in the Traverse City area.
Beulah worked at the Traverse City State Hospital Canteen and was also a 4-H leader for 15 years. She helped to start the Long Lake grange and instrumental in starting the swimming lessons at Long Lake park. Beulah is also a member of the Long Lake Church and she belonged to the Long Lake Ladies Aid for several years.
Beulah married Wilbert P. Lautner, on January 27, 1939 in Long Lake, Township. Throughout the years Beulah and Wilbert loved to travel in there motor home to various states around the country.
Beulah loved to watch the Detroit Tigers; you could always find her close to the TV whenever the Tigers were playing. She was an avid and competitive card player, whether it was euchre or poker she was always in it to win, even up until her final days.
Beulah is survived by her daughter, Beverly McAdams, son, Terry (Jacqueline) Lautner, daughter-in-law Marcia Lautner, son-in-law Duane Stowe, as well as Tom, and Ely Haywood. Beulah is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Beulah is preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Lottie, husband, Wilbert, children; Ronald Lautner, and Judy Stowe, siblings; Carl (Irene) Skiver, Delielle Skiver, Francis Skiver, Vernard Skiver, Florence (Clarence) Axtell, Goldie Kingdon, Viola Meinke, Thelma Haywood, and grandson, Jeffery Lautner.
A visitation for Beulah will take place from 9:00 – 11:00 am on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Monday. Immediately following the service there will be a procession to Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens for a graveside service.
