William 'Bill' Ernell Sloan, 72, of Atlanta, MI passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.

Bill was born September 3, 1945 in St Joseph, MO to Ernell and Doris (Rae) Sloan. After high school Bill enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. He returned to the Madison Heights area and worked as a machinery repairman in the automotive industry. He married Sharon Dunaway on October 25, 1969 at a service in Madison Heights.

Bill will be remembered as a caring man who was loved by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and having a good time. He really enjoyed his version of hunting and fishing, especially the comradery that went with it. He was a straight-shooter and you always knew where you stood with him. He loved his retirement home, which he referred to as his personal paradise that he and Sharon recently purchased in Atlanta.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; sister Cathy (Patrick) Spidell; niece Christy Spidell; sister-in-law Phyllis (Jeff) Bottles; and his beloved Scottish Terriers Liam & Fiona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Bill's wishes cremation has taken place.
