William "Bill" Charles Williams

Traverse City - Bill Williams, 87, of Traverse City passed away June 24, 2018 with his family by his side at the Victorian Inn.

Bill was born on December 21, 1930 in Highland Park to the late Joseph B. and Irene (Hudson) Williams.

Bill graduated from Eastern Michigan University Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He served our country honorably as a member of the United States Air Force from February of 1951 to May of 1952.

Bill was a Personnel Director for General Motors for over 30 years. He was an expert communicator and excelled at his role as a contract negotiator with the unions.

In his free time Bill enjoyed playing golf, bowling, boxing, baseball and football. He loved all sports. He also cherished time spent with family. He loved to have a good conversation and loved to challenge his friends and family with new and unique words. He enjoyed life and will be remembered for his great smile.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kay Beard.

Bill is survived by his daughters Laura (Scott) Ditch of Waterford, Nancy Williams of Traverse City and Suzanne (Brett) Pitts of Overland Park, Kansas, grandchildren Christina, Kevin, Courtney, Crystal, Amber, Felicia and Kelly and seven great grandchildren.

The family will celebrate Bill's life privately.
