Blanche Lomasney

Our dear mom, Blanche "Elsie" Lomasney, 96, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully and was received into the arms of God on January 29, 2022. She was in the comfort of her home, family at her side.
Our mom was born on March 26, 1925, in Detroit, daughter to the late Aime and Paula (LaVerge) DeRiviere. Dad and mom were married on January 22, 1945, while dad served in the U.S. Navy. This began just shy of 62 years of marriage-until dad's passing on January 19, 2007. Mom was a dedicated and loving homemaker, wife and mother.

In her later years, mom loved her courtyard, taking care of her flowers and feeding the birds. She enjoyed reading. Her appearance was always neat and her nails were always done. She enjoyed cocktails with family and friends. Her storytelling of different events in her life made all laugh and smile.
Our mom will surely be remembered by her loving and caring ways.

Elsie leaves behind her children Lynda Wolf, Debra (Martin) Ross, William F. Lomasney III and Richard (Sue) Lomasney; grandchildren Michael (Lanae) Wolf, John (Rose Eavou) Wolf, Brian (Johnna) Ross, Laurie (Melzar) Coulter and Linda (Will) Richards; great-grandchildren Adam, Carolyn, Trevor, Lincoln, Briar, Oliver, Martin, Elsie, Isaac, Evan, Sylvia, Sophia and Hannah and extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William F. Lomasney, Jr. and sister Helen (Albert) Daniels.

We would like to thank Hospice of Michigan, especially Dana and Jennifer for their love and support in helping us care for our mom.

A graveside service will take will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, May, 20, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
