Robert A. "Bob" Bembeneck, 87 passed away on April 12, 2020 following a long battle with cancer.
Bob was the son of Bernard and Clara Bembeneck. He was born on November 25, 1932 on the family farm in Hannah. After graduating from St. Mary's of Hannah in 1951, he joined the United States Army Reserves in 1952 and was called to active duty for two years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1958. During his time in the Army he married the former Thomasine "Tommie" Hamp on September 12, 1953. They had six children, Barbara Ann, Ronald Lee, Roger Allen, Debra Kay, Lynn Marie and Russell Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Tommie, sons Roger and Russell and brother Eugene.
Bob is survived by his children Barbara (Ronald) Brightman of Tampa, FL, Ronald (Candy) of Pinckney, Debra (Rodney) Homan of Grawn and Lynn (Richard) Koch of Tarpon Springs, FL. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen (Charles) Lautner of Williamsburg and brother Al Bembeneck of Kingsley. Bob is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Per Bob's wishes cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 1:00pm. Memorials may be directed to Munson Hospice or to the Father Fred Foundation.
