Robert Alan Pentland, age 79, passed away peacefully on his 79th birthday, July 10, 2025.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 10, 1946, Bob was the son of LaVerne and Dorothy (Taylor) Pentland. He graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to earn an MBA from Wayne State University.
On August 23, 1969, Bob married Anne Lepczyk, beginning a partnership spanning more than 55 years.
Bob began his career working in industrial companies, but it was in the early 1980s that he found his true professional calling. Influenced by the operational principles of Taichi Ohno, Bob dedicated himself to mastering and applying these methods. His hands-on experience and deep understanding made him a respected expert in the field. He generously mentored colleagues and clients, playing a vital role in the success of many enterprises.
He was a Professed Member of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Anne, and their children: Matthew (Gabrielle Irons), Kathryn, Emily, and James.
He was a proud grandfather to: Matthew, William, and Anastasia.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Leonard Biloy, and is fondly remembered by many loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Bob will be remembered for his wisdom, dedication to others, and generous spirit. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched.
An evening visitation will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, on Friday, July 18th beginning at 5:00PM. A Rosary will take place at 7:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19th beginning at 12:00PM, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd in Howell, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Bob's memory directed to either the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or MI Right to Life.
