Bonnie Jean Griffin

Bonnie Jean Griffin, 72, of Traverse City passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie was born on Wednesday, October 23, 1940 to the late Norris and Alma (Thomas) Beckwith in Traverse City. She graduated from Traverse City High School and married Robert D. Griffin on Saturday, November 28, 1959 in Traverse City.

Bonnie lived in the Traverse City all her life. She was a life member of VFW Auxillary, enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, but her greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchldren.

Bonnie is survived by her sons Kenneth (Deb) Griffin of Traverse City, Michael Griffin of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren, Kyle (Lindsay), Kayla and Corey; her great grandchildren, Addison Kaye and Easton Robert. Also surviving is her sister Darlene Abbott of Illinois, Rosie (Pete) Thiel of Traverse City and Cheryl Levin of Florida, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Jan. 7, 2012, by her parents and a sister, Connie Luper.

A memorial luncheon will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the VFW Cherryland Post in Traverse City. A private family graveside service will take place at a later time.

Rather than flowers, Bonnie had requested that memorial contributions would be directed to the Cherryland VFW Post 2780, 3400 Veterans Drive,. Traverse City, MI 49684.
