TRAVERSE CITY — Bonnie Lee Zenner, 77, of Traverse City, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family by her side.Bonnie was born on Aug. 2, 1932, in Traverse City, to the late Thomas and Nellie (Smith) Ankerson. She married the late Ralph LeRoy Zenner on Jan. 19, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Traverse City.Bonnie was often found gardening, watching the Tigers, playing cards, or really enjoying herself dancing the polka. She was a day care provider for many years and she was lovingly referred to as Grandma Bonnie. She was very active in her grandchildren's lives and was their greatest fan.Bonnie was part of the Long Lake Women's Club and volunteered her time with the Long Lake Baseball Association. She looked forward each year to the Northwestern Michigan Fair and she served as a 4-H leader for many years.Bonnie was strong in her faith and part of the St. Patrick and Immaculate Conception Catholic parishes. She will be truly missed by all.Surviving Bonnie are her children, Tom (Victoria) Zenner, Tim (Deb) Zenner, Ted (Catherine) Zenner, Todd (Julianne ) Zenner and Terri Zenner; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Ballentine and Jean (Bud) Zenner; brothers Arnold (Barb) Ankerson, Jerry (Shirley) Ankerson, Paul (Cyr) Ankerson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.Bonnie was preceded in death by brothers, Merle, Donald, Kenneth and Leo Ankerson; a sister, Arlene Horton; nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.Visitation for Bonnie will take place Tuesday, July 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, with visitation one hour prior at the church. The Rev. Fr. Anthony Citro will serve as Celebrant.
