Traverse City

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Brandon Edward Goff on August 22, 2026. Born on October 15, 1989 in Traverse City, Michigan, Brandon brightened the lives of everyone he encountered with his kindness, empathy and humor. Brandon was the cherished son of Dan and Roberta Goff, who raised him alongside his siblings, Megan Versluis and Ryan Goff.

As a young man, Brandon excelled in many sports and graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 2007. He then immediately answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. During his eight years of service, he remained dedicated and devoted to his country while earning the rank of Staff Sergeant and completing two tours in Afghanistan. After his military service, Brandon excelled in framing and general carpentry though Brandon found immense importance in working on the family cherry farm, surrounded by the land and people he loved.

An avid outdoorsman, Brandon's most joyful moments were spent hunting and fishing with his brother and nephews. He also relished the simple pleasures of life like enjoying a beautiful sunset or stargazing, attending family sporting events, or playing with his dog Boo.

Brandon's quick wit and unique ability to make people laugh remain legendary traits cherished among those who knew him in any capacity. When he wasn’t found joking with loved ones and friends, he was often lending a compassionate heart. Brandon gave the most incredible hugs.

Brandon leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory: his parents, Dan and Roberta Goff; his siblings, Megan (and Adam) Versluis and Ryan Goff; his grandfathers, Lowell Goff and Garwood Hansen; and his cherished nephews and niece, Dominic, Kameron, Braiden, Dillon, Jacob, and Lillian, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved son, Noah; cousin, Nick; and his grandmothers, Hansen and Goff.
