Brenda Sue Gibson, 66 of Buckley passed away peacefully with her caring family by her side on Friday September 15, 2023.

Brenda was born on June 29, 1957 to Lonnie and Beverly Bird. She was raised in Ravenna later moving to Traverse City. Brenda loved to garden, read, knit, and crochet in her free time. She also loved to cook and bake for her friends and family, and was known for her cookie deliveries!

Brenda worked as an office administrator and dispatcher for BATA where she met the love of her life, Joe, in 1997. The two were married on November 15, 2000 and loved going on trips together, sightseeing, and their movie date nights. They made their home in Buckley where Brenda began her school bus driving career of 15 years for the Buckley School District. She loved greeting her students every morning and afternoon with her amazing smile and cared deeply for each one. She was a giving woman with a heart of gold.

Surviving Brenda is her beloved husband Joe of 23 years, her daughter Stacie (Kirk Sr.) McWethy, Kim Gibson, Dhonyale (Alvin) Taylor, Joe (Patrice) Gibson Jr, sisters; Malonnie Manning, Sheila Bird, Tina (Bill) Carr, her adoring 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Brenda was preceded in death by her brother Walter (Connie) Bird, and her parents Lonnie and Beverly Bird.

A memorial celebration for Brenda will take place at her home on Saturday, September 23,2023 at 1pm at 8484 Zue Road Buckley, MI 49620. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice of Traverse City.
