Obituary

Brent Steven Allen was born on September 8, 1959 in Grand Rapids to Christopher and Nancy (Clark) Allen. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1977. He pursued some college education with the goal of becoming an architect, but ultimately decided to embark on his own path. Brent became a talented contractor, known for his ability to fix just about anything. His skills, versatility, and friendly demeanor made him a joy to work with.
Being on the water was his happy place. He was an avid golfer, and built his very own putting green and course in his yard in honor of his father. His green thumb was legendary as he could grow anything, even in a half inch of dirt. His love for music ran deep and he collected numerous vinyl records, constantly playing them loud enough for the neighborhood to hear. Brent also enjoyed puzzles and had a notable sweet tooth, especially for chocolate milk, enjoying the best glass he ever had every single day. Brent was also a proud member of the Brothers of the Coast, also known as the Pirates.
Above all, Brent was an incredible human being. He made sure to help all of his loved ones whenever needed and wouldn't hesitate to help a stranger. His giant smile, his sassy jokes, his tight hugs, and his full-of-life personality are just a handful of the things that will be missed most.
Brent's presence was always known when he walked into a room and brought a smile to thousands of faces. His community involvement was extensive. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge #323, the American Military League, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #383.
Brent was eager to help those in need and had a passion for supporting veterans and contributed to numerous charity organizations.
Brent is survived by his daughter Lindsey (partner Elliott Good) Allen, his mom Nancy Allen, his brother Shane (Cyndi) Allen, niece Danica (Terry) Weaver, nephew Kainen Allen, his life partner Sheila Boomer, her daughter Kaytie (Allison) Boomer, his beloved Doggie Doodler fur baby Riley and countless other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father.
