Brian Michael Douglas, 44 of Cadillac, passed away on March 28,2024 leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, humor, and passion.
Brian was born in Detroit on April 3, 1979, to Tom and Karen (Eberly) Douglas. From the moment he entered the world, Brian brought joy and brightness into the lives of those around him. His infectious smile, quick wit and outgoing personality endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His whole life, Brian loved sports, especially golf and fishing. At Detroit Catholic Central High School, he played football on a state championship team as a junior, and became the Catholic League shot put champion his senior year. After high school, Brian pursued his academic interests and earned two college degrees in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and General Studies.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Brian loved spending time with his family, including annual camping weekends with all the Douglas men- 40 years in a row and countless hours with his father, family and friends for small-mouth bass on East Bay. Brian also enjoyed cooking and baking for his family, and often treated them to his wonderful apple pie.
Brian is survived by his parents, Tom and Karen; sister, Kristen Struebing (Brian); aunts and uncles: Paul Eberly (Anna), Karl Eberly (Denise), Sylvia Zamoyski (Tom), Steve Douglas (Deborah), Yvonne Jipping (Jim), Theresa Douglas, Jerry Douglas, and Mary Burns (Sean); Brian is also survived by first cousins: Dan Eberly (Sarah), Kelsey Gochez (Carlos), Niklas Eberly, Kristoffer Eberly, Shannon Yodzevicis, Shelly Zamoyski, John Zamoyski (Shazy), Jim Douglas, (Sarah Morgan), Kate Walski (Chris), Jessica Fontenot (Jason), Meg Jones (Eric), Joni Willis (James), Rob Douglas (Heather), Killian Burns (Maria), Jenie Dixon (Bruce), Teagan Burns, Aaron Crawfis, TJ Douglas, Aidan Burns, and Rachel Crawfis; and 29 second cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Kermit and Lois Eberly; his paternal grandparents, Tom and Geneva Douglas; and his uncle, Eric Eberly.
A Memorial Service and luncheon in honor of Brian's life will take place at Harbor Brook Hall, 2155 US-31 N, Traverse City, (231)947-6076, on Saturday May 11,2024 from 11am to 4pm. You are invited to share your most cherished memory of Brian at the luncheon.
