CEDAR — Brian Richard Nachazel, 31, of Cedar, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, after a car accident. Brian was born on Oct. 19, 1982, in Traverse City, to Richard "Rich" and Laurie (Moreland) Nachazel.
Brian graduated from Leland Public School in the Class of 2000.
Family was incredibly important to Brian. He loved to spend time with them regardless of what they were doing.
He was a dependable person and an electrician by trade. He helped out whenever and wherever he was needed.
Golfing, biking, softball, hunting for Petoskey stones and any outdoor activity brought happiness to Brian.
Brian will be remembered as a "wanna-be" good singer, prankster and a great story teller. He had a calm, sensitive nature that brought peace to whatever room he entered. His smile, contagious laugh and strong, tender, loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Brian are his parents; siblings, Rebecca Lynne (Dale) Goff, of Cedar, and Michael Thomas (fiancée, Hannah Hunnicutt) Nachazel, of Cedar; fiancée, Whitney Chandler; nieces and nephew, Cody, Chloe and Caily; aunts and uncles, Evelyn Easter, Craig Moreland, Peggy (Norm) Gauthier, Eddie Nachazel, Sue Peplinski, Diane Nachazel and Scott Nachazel; maternal grandmother, Laura Moreland; his cat, Sonny; and many other loving family members and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alwin Moreland and Charles and Helen Nachazel.
Visitation for Brian will be held today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Donald Libby will officiate.
