On Nov. 2nd, 2022, Bruce Martin Holland-Moritz unexpectedly passed away. He was 69 years old.
He is survived by his daughter Claire Cabrera, his grandchildren Matthew, and Alyx, his brothers Mike, and Dave, and his niblings, Hannah, Daniel, and Noah.
Bruce was a horticulturalist extraordinaire (known as the Greenman), lapidarist, artist, storyteller, and lover of nature (as he always said "The forest is my church"). Most importantly, he loved to grow things, nurturing both plants and people. Bruce was committed to land stewardship. He participated in heritage seed libraries and shared his knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn.
There are so many ways to show love, and when Bruce offered you a small bag of his snap peas, there was no clearer way he could share his love with you. He grew relationships as beautifully as he grew plants. He will be deeply missed. A memorial honoring Bruce's life will take place on Earth Day 2023, details to be announced.
In lieu of sending flowers, Bruce would ask for you to plant a tree.
