TRAVERSE CITY – Carl D. Reinking, 69, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Munson Hospice House. Carl was born on July 15, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Otto and Clara (Jeffries) Reinking. He married his wife, of 41 years, Sharon on November 7, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan. She preceded him in death on March 31, 2006. Carl owned and operated Reinking Construction for many years until his retirement in 2005. Carl loved living up North. His family was most important to him, spending time hunting, fishing, going to the Indy 500 and barbequing were some of Carl's favorite family memories. He attended Grawn United Methodist Church and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Carl was honest and a man of his word he set a great example for his family to follow.
Carl is survived by a daughter, Angela (Joe) Rogers of Traverse City, a son, Kurt (Bonnita) Reinking of Royal Oak, four grandchildren; Paige and Nathan Rogers and Jacob and Joshua Reinking, also a sister, Marlene (Jack) Orr.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy McCurly.
A memorial service honoring Carl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December, 28, 2013 at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass Street, Traverse City. Rev. Mary Brown will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with Carl's family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
