Carol "Cookie" Emery, 78, of South Boardman, passed away on November 27, 2022 at The Grand Traverse Pavilions, Traverse City. She finds her peace now with her husband of 58 years, Ernest.

She was born to the late Joseph Skotak and Mary Kilmaszewski on November 20, 1944, in Wyandotte, MI. She was one of five children. She now joins her siblings Patricia, Mary Ann, Ronald and Robert.
Carol lived in the Kalkaska area, before Alzheimer's forced her to be moved to the Grand Traverse Pavilions. She grew up in Wyandotte, attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel. She worked as a clerk at Wyandotte General Hospital and later after moving north at Munson Medical Center. She enjoyed the outdoors and had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed crafting and shopping as well. Her greatest love and enjoyment came from her family.

Carol is survived by her daughters; Theresa (Leon) Alberts, Deborah (Jeff) Steinbeck, Barbara (Jim) Hanks and Susan (Craig) Justice, as well as grandchildren; Sean (Darrelle), Alycia (Scott), Jeffrey (Sabrina) and Steven (Lonna), and most recently a great grandchild Athena.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00am on Friday December 2, 2022 at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery where Carol will be laid to rest with her husband. A luncheon will follow the committal service.
