Carol Denise (Eskew) Holtrey, 54, of Traverse City, passed away suddenly on March 20, 2020.
She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on December 3, 1965 to Mary Anne and Dick Eskew.
They moved to Lapeer, MI when she was six months old, then moved to Parker Arizona in 1990. While living in Arizona she worked at a Taco Bell there, as well as working at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island in 1993. The family moved back to Michigan to live in a town called Hesperia. From there Carol Denise would come up north to the Cherry Festival and to live here. While working at the Grand Traverse Resort and Hotel, she met her husband Thomas Lavern Holtrey I. They got married June 23, 1996 and had their oldest daughter, Autumn Denise Holtrey, January 1997. Their second daughter Aurora Leanne Holtrey, born February 5, 2001 and then a son Thomas Lavern Holtrey II born August 24, 2003.
Carol Denise loved spending time with her family, going to yard sales, doing puzzles, crosswords, listening to music and reading. She enjoyed getting to know everyone that she met. She will be sorely missed by all whom knew her.
Carol Denise is survived by her children Autumn and son Finn, of Traverse City, Aurora of Frankfort, Thomas II of Interlochen, parents Mary Anne and Dick of Hesperia, sister Ingrid (Ron) McClellan of Rothbury. Also, two step daughters, Stormy Holtrey of Bear Lake and Heather (Bobby) Clayton of Arkansas, as well as mother in law Maxine King of Traverse City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas.
Carol and her family are being cared for by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
