Obituary

"Well done, good and faithful servant" are words that Carol Ann Williams, 79, heard from her Savior on November 24, 2023 as she made the journey to her Heavenly Home.

Born July 15, 1944 to Albert and Lillian (Bey) Domke in Millersburg, MI, Carol was born into a farming family with a strong foundation of faith. With older brother Albert, their parents taught them the value of a hard day's work and the importance of family and of a life based on faith in the Lord Jesus. After graduating from Onaway High School, Carol attended Alpena Community College and graduated from Michigan State University in 1966.

Through mutual friends she met Larry Williams, the love of her life. She asked his intentions on their second date and he responded that he would marry her someday, and he did, on June 28, 1969. They recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. After a few different posts as part of Larry's service in the US Army, they settled in Traverse City, MI where they raised two daughters, Christy and Kathleen.

Carol held different jobs during her lifetime as the needs of their family changed, but her favorite job was being a wife, mom and grandma. She cherished her family. She gave the best advice and was the biggest cheerleader for her daughters and five grandchildren. She was talented behind a sewing machine, dating from her younger years in 4H. She sewed her own wedding dress, made countless clothes and Halloween costumes for her girls. Her love of crafting branched into knitting, crocheting, and a little scrapbooking. She was a devoted member of Feast of Victory Lutheran Church and was active in altar guild, handbell choir, and the Bible study and knitting groups. She was a beautiful blend of practicality and joy.

Carol is survived by her husband Larry, daughter, Christy (Matt) Pawloski of Traverse City, grandchildren, Logan (Marissa), Jacob (Emma) and Noah (Jolee) Pawloski, Kiely Maddasion and Domenic Wilkes; her brother, Albert (Carol) Domke of Fergus Falls, MN, sister-in-law, Sue (Terry) Groesser of Grand Rapids, MI, and nephews, Tim (Lynn), Troy (Karen), and Todd Domke, and Matt (Lisa) Groesser.

She is preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Edgar and Vivian Williams, and daughter, Kathleen Williams.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Feast Of Victory Lutheran Church, 4400 Mt. Hope Rd. in Acme, with The Rev. Haley Vay Beaman presiding.
