Carole Ann Elmer

Carole Ann Elmer, 85, of Traverse City passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Villa at Traverse Point.

Carole was born in Chicago, IL to the late Axle and Helga (Peterson) Palm on December 15, 1937. She was previously married to the late Neil Elmer.

Carole was a devoted nurse. She graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelors in Nursing in 1961. In the early 1980's she took a Church Mission trip to Colombia with intentions to help in the nursing field but fell in love with three beautiful children that she eventually adopted. Wilson, Cecilia and Erik brought great joy and purpose to her life.

Carole will be remembered as the most loving and caring person ever. She simply loved helping people. She never judged and only simply made you feel loved. She was the best mom, grandma, great grandma and friend to so many. Her smile and sense of humor will be forever missed.

Surviving Carole are her children, Cecilia (George) Mafonko and Erik (girlfriend Mary Brooks) Elmer, grandchildren, Trinity, Alic, Nadya, Deziree, Chimuka, Amaijah, Atianijah, and Devante, great grand daughter Miah and many other loving family members and friends.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents and her son Wilson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 10am. Her service will also be livestreamed at rjfh.tv.
