TRAVERSE CITY — Carolyn K. Schleede, 94, of Traverse City, passed away Oct. 12, 2011, at Culver Meadows. Carolyn was born on May 16, 1917, in Traverse City, to the late Raleigh and Henrietta (Davis) Shisler. On April 27, 1943, Carolyn married Roland Schleede. He preceded her in death in 1997. In her spare time Carolyn enjoyed going on walks, knitting and reading.She was also a member of the First Congregational Church. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Roland; and sisters, Lillian Wurm and Harriet Wood. Carolyn is survived by her children, James (Melissa) Schleede, of Illinois, Lynda Schleede, of Traverse City, Theresa Schleede, of Traverse City, and Joanne Schleede, of Colorado; grandchildren, Robert, Eric, Nick, Rachel and Emma Schleede, of Illinois, Gary Jr., Michael and Mark Hulber, Lisa (Bryan) Girbach and Shelley Lindemann; and five great-grandchildren. Carolyn will be interred at the Prayer Garden at First Congregational Church at a later date.
