Casey Christian Rasmussen

TRAVERSE CITY - Casey Christian Rasmussen, 26, of Lexington KY, died unexpectedly on October 30, 2016 at his home. He was born August 22, 1990 in Traverse City, the son of Tom and Gale (Kennedy) Rasmussen. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 2009, and was a member of the 2008 Division 7 State Champion football team. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2014 at the University of Louisville, double majoring in Biology and Psychology. He was currently enrolled as a 3rd year student at the University of Kentucky's College of Medicine.

Casey had a passion for weightlifting and physical fitness and competed in a number of physique shows. He also enjoyed helping people, volunteering at Have A Heart a free weekend clinic in Louisville, KY, on a regular basis. He loved the holidays and being home with family. He also enjoyed the outdoors and went skiing at Crystal Mountain any chance he could.
Casey is survived by his parents Tom and Gale, and his brother Bryan, all of Traverse City. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Jack and Shirley Rasmussen of Ludington. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A visitation for Casey will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 1:30 pm.
