Catherine A. Godfrey, age 68, recently of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her home.
Catherine was born on November 30, 1952, in Highland Park, Michigan, to James and Janet (Regan) Godfrey.
Cathy lived in Wixom, Michigan, for 40 years working as an accountant and just recently moved to Traverse City to be near family and enjoy beautiful northern Michigan. She loved the beaches and waters and long drives around the area. Another favorite were trips to Frankenmuth and Bronners with one of her sisters. She also enjoyed bowling, reading, puzzles and games, as well as travel to different states and a family Caribbean cruise. Cathy never married or had children but loved her nieces and nephews as her own, along with several cat children over the years.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Godfrey, of Traverse City and siblings, Chris DeGrandchamp of Traverse City, Denise (Phil) Stommel of Lake, Michigan, Jim (Robin) Godfrey of Traverse City, Cindy (Steve) Melichar of Traverse City, and Steve Godfrey of Traverse City and Punta Gorda, Florida, and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Godfrey, sister- in-law, Connie Godfrey, and brother-in-law, Carl DeGrandchamp.

A committal service for Catherine will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate.
