Traverse City-Catherine J. Eggli, 97, of Traverse City, died Tuesday evening, December 4, 2012, at Munson Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born September 8, 1915. on the family homestead in Blair Township, she was the daughter of the late Julius J. and Elizabeth C. (Rusch) Eggli.

She was a long time dedicated member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where she volunteered in several different capacities.

For years, Cathy was employed by Boardman Valley Hospital and Munson Medical Center, where she retired in l977 as a Dietary Supervisor.

She is survived by her two nephews, Joseph (Janet) Eggli and Gerald (Sally) Eggli; great nieces, Erica (James) Peckham III and Emily Eggli and her friend, Mark Baker all of Traverse City.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Josephine Eggli and Christina Amelia Eggli; and her brother, Joseph F. Eggli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Francis Catholic Church on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Kenneth Stachnik presiding.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.

In remembrance of Cathy, memorials may be directed to the Food Pantry at St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Carmelite Monastery.
