Catherine "Cathy" May Peterson passed away June 21, 2016 at her home in Traverse City.

Cathy was born in Detroit on August 22, 1933 and was raised by her beloved aunt Carolyn McKenzie.

On May 31, Catherine, the love of my life and I celebrated our 64th anniversary. Kit, as I called her, raised four of the most loving and compassionate children any family could hope for. She helped by supporting the family as a mother and secretary for our beautiful children; Suzanne, Mary Ellen, Jeff and Connie.

During her life it would be impossible to measure the people, family and friends she has touched. She loved life whether it was traveling, dancing, playing golf, tennis, reading a good book or enjoying her many years entertaining family and friends at our Lake Ann cottage. All of her five grandkids; Lisa, Matt, Katy, Alex and Zack have great memories of their grandmother from the cottage years. Catherine was not only a great grandmother; Ashton, Cameron, Ryan and Hayden, but a great great to baby Noah.

Words cannot describe how this wonderful wife and mother will be missed by her husband, family and friends. Catherine was our rock and love of our life.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Dale Ostema will officiate the service.
