TRAVERSE CITY — Charles Douglas "Chuck" Collins, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, was called home by God on June 2, 2011, at Munson Medical Center. He was born Sept. 1, 1927. Chuck was married to Carol J. Collins for 53 years. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army in the 10th Mountain Division and as a tank commander. He worked for Radio Distributing Co. in Taylor for 40 years; he and his wife moved to Traverse City after retirement. Chuck was dearly loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Dave (Bridget) Collins; daughter, Lori Biondo; son, Mark (Teresa) Collins; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 1 p.m., with the memorial service at 2 p.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Please share thoughts with the family at Chuck's online guestbook at
