Charles "Pete" Edward Rennie II, 73, of Traverse City passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in the comfort of his home.
Pete was born on February 3, 1943 in Traverse City to the late Ferris and Marilyn (Newell) Rennie. He married Beverly Bramer on October 28, 1967 also in Traverse City.
Pete was in the Traverse City High School Class of 1961. After graduation Pete honorably served our Country in the United States Navy in the Radar Division. Upon his return he went to work for Consumers Energy. He began as a lineman and worked up the ranks to Supervisor working for over 25 dedicated years.
In his younger years Pete was a great downhill skier and even made Sports Illustrated. He also loved sailing and anything to do with the water. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church for many years. Fondly Pete will be remembered as a happy and active man. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Surviving Pete is his wife Beverly; children, William "Bill" Rennie of Florida, Jackson "Jack" (Lori) Rennie of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Devon, Sean, Madison and Zackery; siblings, Lynn (Denny) House, James (Karen) Rennie; Sister-in-laws, Barbara (Thomas) Harrand, Brigid Chapel, Bethany (Greg) Irwin and many other loving family members and friends.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Wayne Chapel.
A Mass of Christian burial will all take place at 11am on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church with a Rosary prayed prior at 10am. Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Mass Intentions.
