Charles Edward Kipley

Charles "Chuck" Edward Kipley, 99, of Traverse City, passed away November 5, 2022.
He was born August 13, 1923, in Detroit, son to William and Ruth (Thoren) Kipley.

"Chuck" graduated in 1940 from Southeastern High School, Detroit.
Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, at age 19. Charles served as 2nd class radioman in the pacific theater during WWII. He saw the war to its end.

On August 31, 1974, he married Penny Rundel at Grace Lutheran Church in Redford Township, Michigan.
The couple moved to Traverse City in 1978 and joined St. Michael Lutheran Church. They later joined Trinity Lutheran, where they remain dedicated members.

Chuck leaves behind his wife Penny; children Randall (Marylin) Kipley and Karen (Anthony) Jaszczalt; step-children Rick (Rae) Bergamo and Denise (Mike) Geluso; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-daughter Kathy Tharp and brothers Thomas, Phillip, Robert, William and David.

Memorial Service, Wednesday, November 9, 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Traverse City. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of service.
