Obituary

Charles Victor Klepac II, 89, of Traverse City passed away Monday, July 16, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City.

Charles was born on Thursday, October 05, 1922. to the late Charles and Mary (Chamberlin) Klepac I, in Traverse City, Michigan. He was a graduate of Traverse City High School and was the host of many high school reunions.

Charles served our country as a member of the U. S. Navy during WW II and Korea. He was discharged at the rank of First Lieutenant and was a member of the American Legion. A civil engineer, he had worked in road construction for many years and had also taught at Ferris State University for a year. Charles enjoyed golfing and walking, working Sudoku, listening to all kinds of music, and wood working, being a carver of many golf figures.

Charles married Dolores Sladek on Monday, September 2, 1946 in Traverse City. She preceded him in death October 26, 1989. They had five children and many happy years together.

After Dolores' death Charles met Onahlee Crawford and was blessed to spend 22 years together with her.

Survivors include his children, Michael and Cecilia (Bensen) Klepac of Portland, MI, Jane Klepac of Clarksville, TN, Mary Klepac and Charles V. Klepac III, both of Holt; a daughter in law Carolyn Klepac of Traverse City,12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; his sister Beverly Yankee of Traverse City, and sister in law Shirley Klepac. Also surviving is his special friend, Onalee Crawford of Traverse City. Charles was preceded
in death by his parents, his wife, a son, David, and a brother, Robert.

Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24 at the Peninsula Township Cemetery. Family and friends will take time to share memories of Charles at the The Park Place Hotel from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24th.
